Payments & Taxes

When are revenue (royalty) payments processed?

Revenue (royalty) payments are processed at the end of each month.

Why haven't I received a check?

Revenue (royalty) payments are mailed or directly deposited if your account has reached the minimum pay amount, which in most cases is $100. Once your royalty reaches the minimum pay amount, a payment will be disbursed at the end of that month.

Accounts that do not reach the minimum pay amount are paid annually at the end of September.

Additionally, payments may be held if there is uncertainty as to ownership, such as a notice of death, change of address, transfer of property, assignment of interest or legal dispute. Payments due are accumulated and released when the matter affecting ownership has been resolved.

Promptly notifying PennEnergy of any changes and providing needed documentation will limit the duration of this inconvenience.

What do I do if my check is lost or older than the 180 days listed on the check?

Please allow 30 business days to receive your check. If your check is lost or more than 180 days old, contact Owner Relations at 412-857-2291 or email landadmin@pennenergyresources.com. You will be advised of our Void process.

For your protection, Tax Withholding requests are not accepted via telephone.

Division Order

What is a Division Order?

A Division Order is a document that lists your ownership and the decimal interest you will be paid for production from a well or wells.

Why did I receive a Division Order?

PennEnergy Resources is currently preparing to drill, complete and produce wells in your area. Our records indicate that you are the Oil and Gas owner of property included in our production Unit.

What is a production Unit?

A production Unit is a set of acres pooled together to develop a well or wells. It combines multiple tracts of land and/or leases and royalties are shared among all owners within that Unit based on their proportionate share of the acreage.

How do I find where my property is in the Unit?

Included with your Division Order packet is a copy of the Unit Designation, which outlines the tracts & leases pooled together to form the Unit. The Exhibit A of the Unit Designation lists all tracts and leases, while the Exhibit B Map visually depicts that list.

To locate your property, first find your tract or lease on the Exhibit A. Then use the Plat Number to identify your property on the Exhibit B Map.

How do I calculate my Decimal Interest?

The basic calculation for decimal interest is your acres in the Unit, divided by the number of total acres in the Unit, multiplied by the royalty rate listed in your lease.

(YOUR ACRES/TOTAL UNIT ACRES) X ROYALTY RATE = YOUR DECIMAL INTEREST

Example:

You own 5 net acres in the Unit, there are 900 total acres in the Unit, and the royalty rate listed in your lease is 12.5%

(5 divided by 900) multiplied by 12.5% = your decimal interest

(5/900) X .125 = 0.00069444
